Baby Cards for My Mommy

Greetings! Get ready for a new year people! 2008 was great but 2009 is going to be SO fine! (Don't ya love the cool little saying...so original too!):) So today I am posting some cards I made with new Hero Arts stamps. I used basically the same layout as I did for my Asian Doll cards -keep it simple people! I made these little cars for my mommy. She requested them as we were driving around on Christmas Eve looking at lights, so here you go Mommy Dearest.
I used the 2009 baby boy Hero Arts clear stamp set along with papers from Heidi Grace, Imaginisce, and Cloud 9. Lots of coloring with my Copics. The lamb punch is from Martha Stewart and I love it. I used Fun Flock on the lamb's little body. So soft and cute! I also used up a lot of my tiny baby pins from Making Memories ..something I've had for YEARS! Enjoy!

Asian Dolls

Hope everyone had a splendid Christmas! I am glad things are slowly but surely moving back to normal in my house. Now that all the wrapping paper and little twist ties that go on the back of the toys are off the floor. We had so much stuff to take home (TOYS!) that we could not fit everything into our little Hyundai station wagon between my parents and my husband's so my youngest sister had to bring a second shipment in on Sunday night.
For the past two weeks we have not had a microwave...that was fun. My son lives off of chicken nuggets so we had to plan ahead on what to COOK in the OVEN. Not to mention the millions of times we would put something in the microwave to heat up only to realize that NO IT DOES NOT WORK!
Luckily, my ROCKSATR parents came through and bought us a new microwave as an extra gift for Christmas! THANK YOU!!
Anyway.....my post today features the NEW ASIAN DOLL STAMPS from Hero Arts. I saw these little babies online at Jennifer McGuire's blog. The set I saw was wooden blocked but Archiver's had the clear set which included a couple of other images. An ECFE coworker of mine gave me a gift card for my birthday so I HAD to spend it. (Actually, I planned to spend it IF the stamps were in stock:) So I made these cute little cards. I also added the Arigato (which means thanks in Japanese) with my printer.
The dolls were colored with my Copics. Papers used are from Scenic Route-love the two-sided paper. I added bling and glitter to the Komonos with Hero Arts stones and my glitter pens. The little hair pins have Cloud 9 Raindots too. The stamps also have little lantern and fan images which I stamped and colored and hung (lanterns) with Wiki Stick string.
Enjoy!

Cards for My Grandmother

Greetings! A quick post for you all today. I decided that I wanted to make something special for my grandmother this year so I designed some Crafty Secrets Bugs Life cards. This set of 6 cards uses some vintage storybook bug characters as well as some Making Memories papers. I also incorporated my giant punch corner punch from Stampin' Up and lots of Copic coloring. Gotta love the markers. I finished off the set by placing them in a Paper Salon folio. ( I find these hard to come by now.)
Today was my birthday so I had a fun-filled evening with my family. I then had the chance to go to Bodyflow at the YMCA which is one of my favorite classes. I usually don't get the chance to go to that particular class because I work a night class that goes until 8:00pm ...but Christmas break brings more opportunity to relax....besides just sitting around on my butt.
I am hoping to do some scrapbooking tomorrow. I haven't done that in quite some time. I am so obsessed with the card thing right now. Oh, and I have discovered some pretty cool blogs through magazines and just playing around on the computer. Black Apple is one of my favorites...lots of vintage finds as well as delicious recipe ideas. This past weekend, I decided that buying marshmallow is so dumb...why not make them. And what goes with marshmallows but hot chocolate. So I spent a very wintery night on Saturday (because I was asked to not come into work because of the deadness) making hot chocolate mix and homemade marshmallows. NOW, I must say they were some of the most yummy things I have ever created. It was like PEEP heaven...but better. I then placed them in little Martha Steawrt boxes with decorated parchment paper. The cocoa was placed in Mason jars decorated with Basic Grey papers ( of course). I gave them away to my neighbors and my hubby's coworkers. (Why didn't I take a picture..DUH!)
So here are some links to the blogs I 've been peeking at:
colorflystudio.blogspot.com and janesapron.typepad.com and speckledegg.typepad.com
Enjoy!

Winter Survival Kit

It's FREEZING! Today my post has a special way to help alleviate this: stuff to keep you warm and snug on the cold winter days of the north. I call it The Winter Survival Kit. I took a Mason jar
from Michael's and filled it with : hand warmers, hot cocoa, chap stick, cough drops and lotion. I then took one of my Hanna Stamps (Reily the Moose) and colored it with my Copic markers and added some silk ribbon from May Arts. The papers are from the Basic Grey 6x6 pack Wassail collection. Hope you stay warm and toasty. Enjoy!

K&Co/Amy Butler Papers

Hey all!

Today is Friday and boy am I glad! Can't believe how fast this week has gone by. Our family is getting ready for our church Christmas play this Sunday. Paige is a dancer in the kid's chorus and Darcy and myself play some of the adult roles.
Today I am posting some of the cards I made back in November. I used the Amy Butler line from K&Company. I just love the vintage images in the line! It will be hard to give out these cards. I especially love the vintage sewing patterns contained in the die cut images. Too cute! Enjoy!

Christmas Card 2008

My 2008 Christmas Card

Happy Snowy Day! We have a mot of snow now. Don't you just LOVE the sound of crunching snow beneath your feet? (OK I am a little weird...alright really weird.)
Today my post features my 2008 Christmas card. Last year, it was emboss city and this year I went:
a. cheap
b. simple
c. circular

I used Basic Grey papers(of course) along with the HUMUNGO punches from Marvy. A little ribbon and Cuttlebuggin' and TADA!
Now, the inside is my favorite to design. This year, I went for the pocket/tag with Paige's (my daughter) nativity drawing. I also included a verse Luke 2:11 on the outside of the pocket. OK that ended up at the top of my post...ooops. Finally, instead of a long Christmas letter I used a circular text in Word art to highlight the year's best. (Meeting the New Kids on the Block made the list! That was not my husband's idea.) I then added the kids in the center with a photo. Paige wasn't too thrilled with the picture choice...notice the missing front teeth...how adorable! OK that too ended up in a crazy place..you get the picture.
Enjoy!

Christmas Bruch Invites

Happy Day! I am feeling so much better today! Everyone in my house has had ear infections and such but yesterday I had some type of flu bug! NASTY! Anyhow...
My post today features my Christmas Brunch invites. Each year, my family hosts a BBQ in the summer and a brunch in the winter. I pull out the fancy dishes and make "pretty" food for all.
The invites showcase Basic Grey paper and some stamps from Hero Arts. I used my Copics for the coloring. The side of the invites have eyelets (which I rarely use) and paper ribbon from Making Memories..I don't even think you can buy it anymore. Stay well...ENJOY!

Little Boxes Lots of Fun

Happy Thanksgiving! I promised something FUN FUN FUN! So.....here are POPCORN BOXES! I LOVE to alter containers for gift giving so I thought these would be perfect. I decorated these cute little boxes from Michael's with Offbeat papers from Basic Grey and chipboard elements from American Crafts. The mini cards are stamped with Stampendous stamps and colored in with my Copic markers. Love the little size of the cards, it lets me use up the scraps in my box. I think I will give these to my Secret Santa pal at work so those of you who read this that I work with need to HUSH IT! ENJOY!

Those Darn Kids

I had a lot of fun creating these Kiddy Cards. It is somewhat hard for me to pull away from the flowers and the frills so this was a tiny challenge. I made two very different cards here. The boat card is made with Technique Tuesday stamps and Autumn Leaves papers. I think it is more of a baby card. The second card is made with Archiver's line of exclusive Stampendous stamps and Archaic papers from Basic Grey. This one is perfect for the little boy in your life.

I am hoping to post something FUN FUN FUN tomorrow. Enjoy!

Thank Yous with Inkadinkado

Happy Day to all! I just finished up some Thank You cards which feature lots of embossing with my Cuttlebug. I've been trying to replenish my stash of cards so I hope to have more to share soon. The owl and bird card feature Inkadinkadoo stamps and Basic Grey papers. I love the owl's eyes...I used black rain dots on them to make them stick out and shine. With both cards, I used my Copic markers. Enjoy!
