Tea Bag Holder-Sewing!!

Greetings! I have been following a new blog Lolly Chops. I love it!! I am now using my sewing machine and LOTS of fabric! It is fun to try new materials. So I decided to start small and went with her template to create a tea bag holder. If you know me well, I always carry extra bags of tea in my purse. (You never know when you will feel a cold coming on or have a sore throat.)

Anyway, I though this would not only make a cute gift, but it would also keep my tea bags well, let's just say in better condition, right?! So here it is my first tea bag holder. I went the extra crafty-mile and added my own button hole. After viewing a tutorial on youtube and reading my machine instructions VERY carefully-I did it!

The kids are very impressed with my machine skills, yes they are young, but hey everyone has to have some type of cheerleaders, right?

Enjoy!

WHAT?? A Scrapbook Page?

Greetings! Today I have a scrapbook page for you. I know weird- REALLY weird! Anyway, I have all sorts of paper and pictures organized to scrap but still haven't finished what I would have liked to. BUT LAST NIGHT I FINISHED ONE PAGE. I had actually been working on it for about three days. How can this be? Well, you see, I actually prefer to paper craft (cards) and well in my opinion scrappin' isn' the same.

So here you go scrapbook fans, a stinkin' page!!!!!!!!! I made it with papers from Scenic Route; one of my favorites. When they come out with a new line, I have to purchase just about every piece. CRAZY! This is now pretty old, probably from a year or so ago. I saw the fish and knew it would go to good use. Many of you may not know this, but I once had a fish themed room. (yes, mom i know you remember). I added just some plain ole' card stock to this one. The arrows, dp and cardstock all come from the line. I think it is called SUNSHINE or something to that tune.

The easel was a find from Target. They had some Valentine picture attached to it but I will save that for something else. The easel was only like $5...what...a ...DEAL!

Hoping to break out the sewing machine soon, I have something neato to show you...
Enjoy!

Mojo MOnday Sketch 121

Greetings! Here is a fun sketch brought to you by MOJO MONDAY.

I love how this sketch combines scallops and rounded corners. It really softens up the edges of your card.

I have been following Dawn McVey's blog of late and love her paper flower idea. I went to my local thrift store and purchased some old books and made my own flowers! Super easy and cheap! Plus going to my local thrift store is FUN! Enjoy!

This card uses:
Papers: Sasafras (sugary sweet), Basic Grey (origins)
Stamp: Unity KOM (November)
Gems: Hero Arts
Ink: Momento, Distress (worn corduroy)
Button, Jute, Glitter Pen and corner Chomper

2 Sketches 4 You Laura's Sketch 43

Greetings! Here is my post for the challenge at 2 Sketches 4 You. The card uses papers from Origins a new Basic Grey line. I've combined the papers with Distress Inks, a little Cuttlebug embossing and boarder punching with my tiny scallop from EK. The stamped image and sentiment comes from Unity Stamp Company's KOM. Coloring with Copic markers, as usual.

I love how this sketch adds a little ribbon or tie on the bottom of the main image. It really caught my eye. You could make a tag or little pull with a charm. Oh, maybe that's what I'll try next.! Enjoy!

Butterfly Notecards

Greetings! I have to admit that I did not get as much crafty stuff done during Christmas break as I would have liked to; however, I DID spend a whole bunch of QUALITY time with my kids (especially my daughter).

A co-worker of mine hosted a crop last Sunday and I decided to put together some note cards that my MIL has requested. I finished 11 cards complete with butterflies and embossing.

For the butterflies, I used the stamps from the new Hero Arts set Engravings. Love this set, so many possibilities! I quickly colored them with my Copic markers and added Glimmer mist to them with a Fantastix and my Crafter's Companion craft sheet. Love this!

I will admit that I copied the layout of the cards, thanks Jennifer McGuire! You really saved me some time!

Enjoy!
