Butterfly Thank You

Greetings!  
Today's post features cards I created using dolies.  I love the look of all the stamped backgrounds using this type of image; however, I have not wanted to lay down the money for such an image.
So to save a few dollars, I purchsed some Wilton dolies from Michael's.

In order to add to the doily, I added a few simple butterflies from my Hero Arts Antique Engravings stamps.

I first stamped the butterflies with Pumice Stone Distress Ink directly on the doily.  I then stamped the main image on Papertrey Ink's paper and colored it with my Copic markers.  I also did some additionally inking around the card base with my inking tool  in Pumice Stone as well.

Hero Reverse Image

Greetings!           
Here is a card I created using one of the new Hero Arts reverse cling images.  I love the unique look of the reverse images.
For this card, I used distress ink in broken glass along with clear embossing powder.  Even though distress ink is a dye ink, it can be used to emboss because the ink stays wet for a longer period of time.
After I embossed the image, I colored the open areas with my Copic markers.  I then inked the edges a little more with Saphire distress ink.

Flower Picks-Teacher Gifts

I thought I would share what I'm giving to my kid's teachers this year.  Each year I try to think of something handmade and school-themed.  This year I decided to make  flower picks.

I created these flower picks with some school-themed papers from October Afternoon.  As you can imagine, I love all the vintage images.  Who can resist vintage report cards, flash cards and details from days of long ago?      

I simply added papers, punched elements and did a little stamping, inking and coloring.  After adding a skewer to the back with some Scor-It Tape I was finished. Hope you enjoy!

Embellish Magazine Card Challenge-Sweet Simple Card

Greetings!
The fine folks over at Embellish Magazine have a card challenge which not only incorporates the colors green, craft and black, but also uses BUTTERFLIES!  Who doesn't love butterflies?  Maybe dragonfly fans?  Who knows??!!
Anyway...here I am posting this card using the above requirements.  My attempt was to keep all the elements fresh, clean and simple.  Not a lot of layering here people.
The paper is from my Thrift Store October Afternoon Collection.  LOVING IT!!!
I also used some extras like buttons, pins and pearls.  Enjoy!

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 70

It has been a wee bit since I posted last. The end of the school year is quickly approaching and that means I'm very BUSY!
Moving along...
Today' post is a challenge featured at Sweet Sunday Sketch.  The challenge is to use the posted sketch which has three small square and a flourish.  My card uses the sketches basics and rather than a flourish; I've incorporated a banner.
Unity's May KOM has some super cute images (as it always does).  The banner was stamped on DP from October Afternoon.  Just love the colors and designs!  The paper line is called The Thrift Store.  (I love to shop at stores like that!  I always feel like I am getting a whole ton for NOTHING!)  Enjoy!

2 Sketches 4 You-Kazan's Sketch 52

Greetings!
With all the gloomy weather we've been having here in Minnesota, I have to keep reminding myself that tomorrow is a new day. I thought the sentiment in the Unity April KOM was fitting.

My card today utilizes the sketch over a 2Sketches4You.  It seems as though I can't get enough of scallops lately.  I use them on virtually every card, so this sketch was one where I could use what was in reach at my crafting desk.
