Butterfly Acetate

Greetings!
Today I was catching up on some co-worker birthday cards and I decided to try something new!
K& Co. makes these really cute butterfly acetate 3-D embellishments.  I thought these would be easy to re-create with a little stamp action and some acetate sheets.

So here is what I made:

First I stamped the butterfly from Hero Arts on Papertrey's White cardstock.  I then colored the butterfly with my Copic markers and cut out the image.  Next I stamped the same butterfly with Stazon on an acetate sheet.  Again cut out the image and used a glue dot to stick them together.  I then added a little glitter with my Quicki Glue Pen.

I went with Basic Grey's Origins line and used a Making Memories garment pin and jump ring to allow the butterfly to float on the card.  The sentiment is from Unity Stamps. Neato Cheeto!

This is one of those cards I might just give to one of my students.  I love giving cards out on their BIG 1st birthdays!

This is another one of my FREE stamp sets from Pink Cat studio.  This is from the Lily and Tweet set.  I also incorporated a banner digital image from Squigglefly. I love how I can re-size the images and make them work on any projects I work on! With this site, you can pick your designer or look through all of their images.  Super easy and REALLY fun!

Hugs In Every Language

Greetings!
One of my favorite bloggers Lolly Chops recently requested comments on how to say HUGS in different languages.  I of course responded with the Polish version of the word.  I love having Polish Power.  (or at least I think I have some special kind of power..hee hee).

Anyway, she said she was working on a special project that she would share with her readers.  Later in the week, she posted a word cloud with all the different versions of HUGS.  I LOVE IT!!!

I ended up copying the word cloud and shrank the design to fit a card front!  I thought it would look cool for a background paper.

Lily and Tweet

Greetings!  Today's card is a cute one!  I am using the stamps that I WON from Pink cat Studio.  So excited to win TWO sets of stamps!

I couldn't resist the Lily and Tweet stamps!  How could anyone NOT like a bird dressed in a boa and heel?  (REALLY?!??!)

On this card I used by Nestabilities along with some ribbon, distress ink and coloring with my Copics. Papers are from My Mind's Eye. Hope you enjoy!

Laura's Sketch 45

Greetings!  Today's post features a card which uses a sketch from 2 Sketches.
I decided to try a new technique which is used in this month's issue of DIY.  The technique was originally done with fabric.  To create the ribbon-like look on the boarder I:

Punched circles with 1 1/4 inch punch.
Folded circle sides inward to meet in the middle.
Cut folded circles in half.
Added circle halves next to each other with adhesive.

Plant a Seed of Love

Greetings! Need more Unity stamp ideas? Well, I am back with yet, another card.

Today's post features a card which uses the Unity KOM stamp from January. I love this little tiny seedling image. It has many possibilities. I used papers from BG and a little heart clip by Making Memories. I love it when I can find the "ancient" supplies. It is like finding $5 in your pocket, well sort of.

When you don't have the right die or punch; remember that a circle punch can do wonders for an empty edge. On this card, I used a simple 7/8 circle punch and layered the circles to create a scallop...FUN!

Tea for Two

Greetings! I recently made a stash of cards for my mother using her SCRAPS! I had a lot of fun throwing together cards using little left over pieces.

I created one of the cards with my Unity KOM (January). The little birdie stamp wanted some inky love, so here is what I came up with.

Paper are from Basic Grey (Junebug). I added coloring with my Copics and embossing with my Cuttlebug. Who knew yellow could work for me? (It is NOT my first color of choice.)
